Martina Miller / Girl Friend
I was lucky to meet Tina through skiing when we were both infants. If I hadn’t met her, I would have missed out on a lot of things in life. We are best friends since our tenth birthday, and even though you won’t believe it, we have never once had a fight. That says something, namely that it is impossible to fight with a person like Tina.
Throughout all the difficult moments in ski racing, I could always count on her support, and I am very thankful for that. I don’t know anyone who can motivate and build up a person’s confidence like Tina can. Another quality that I see in Tina is the consistency and pleasure she gets out of training. It is admirable how positive she always is.
I would be here until tomorrow if I had to tell you all the wonderful, funny experiences that Tina and I have had down through the years. During our time skiing together, there has been at least two fits of laughter per day and countless embarrassing moments.
During our time in the youth squad, much to the horror of our coaches, we pulled pranks which still make us laugh today. When we sat our driving test together, we used to go for trips in all kinds of vehicles, for example electric cars in Saas-Fee or the Sharan of our coach. I’m glad there was nobody on the streets during these times.
I wouldn’t want to miss a second of the moments I have spent together with Tina. I couldn’t wish for a better friend than her.
